Southern Ohio Medical Center Enables Better Patient Care in Ohio by Prescribing Non-invasive Security Screening with Evolv

Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth Ohio were very close to rolling out a fleet of walkthrough metal detectors a couple years back. “We were very close to rolling out an implementation,” recalls David Hall, SOMC’s Manager of Security Operations. “But the entire process was very invasive. Everyone who goes through a metal detector must remove everything from their pockets and go through it multiple times. The high volume of nuisance alarms was something we didn’t want to deal with.” They knew that they needed something better to serve their staff while not compromising the efficiency of the hospital.

“We had a lot of ED staff telling us they were very concerned about safety,” Hall says. “They wanted to be able to take care of patients and not worry about their safety. Indeed, when the ED nursing staff found out that we were putting the Express systemsb in place, they were very excited. I remember one of the nurses in the meeting where we announced the decision pumping her fist and exclaiming, ‘Yes!’”

Through implementing the Express, Southern Ohio Medical Center was able to:

Pennsylvania Security Leaders Turn to Evolv as Safety Partner

With Pennsylvania having the 33rd-highest rate of gun deaths in the U.S., Evolv has noted a 10x increase in the number of visitors screened at Pennsylvania venues since 2022 from stadiums to schools.

Champions Choose Evolv

Congratulations to the Columbus Crew, 2023 MLS Champions!  The Crew, one of Evolv’s earliest sports customers, beat LAFC by the score of 2-1 in the 2023 MLS Cup Final last Saturday.  This is the Crew’s third MLS championship (having won previously in 2008 and 2020), which is a testament to the quality and consistency of the organization on and off the pitch.

I think it’s also appropriate to note that, while perhaps not as exciting as the game action, Evolv did play an essential role in the 2023 MLS Cup Final fan experience.  Our Express platform has been a key part of every Crew home game at Lower.com Field, because the team relies on Express to securely and conveniently screen a large number of fans in a very short time through one main entrance.  Never was this more true than last Saturday, which saw that stadium set a record with 20,802 attendees.  As a sports industry veteran, I know that playoff games can be especially challenging for Ops staff because an atypically large percentage of attendees (VIPs, sponsors, celebrities, visiting team fans, and so forth) tend to be unfamiliar with the venue.  Add in the realities of a cool and damp December afternoon, which means more jackets and blankets, and you have all the makings for a difficult ingress.  But the Crew, the Lower.com Field staff, and Evolv Express handled the challenge without a hitch.

The Crew are not our only championship customer.  In fact, we’ve seen a flurry of recent championships from our client roster, including both major tenants at Ball Arena in Denver (Denver Nuggets, 2023 NBA Champions; Colorado Avalanche, 2022 NHL Champions), the Houston Astros/Minute Maid Park (2022 MLB World Series Champions), and the Los Angeles Rams/SoFi Stadium (2021 NFL Super Bowl Champions).

Winning a pro sports championship requires greatness from an entire organization, sport and business alike.  It’s no surprise, then, that the same teams that demand nothing but the best from and for themselves and their fans on the field have the same high standards and expectations off the field.  When that’s the goal, the choice for ingress screening becomes obvious … and that’s why champions choose Evolv.

Jacksonville Jaguars Score with Evolv Technology Partnership

Twelve NFL franchises choose Evolv’s AI-based security screening solution

 

WALTHAM, Mass. – (December 5, 2023) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, today announced its partnership with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars use Evolv’s state-of-the-art Evolv Express® screening solution at their home field, EverBank Stadium. Evolv Express is also used to screen attendees for events at Daily’s Place, the new multi-use complex located adjacent to the football field. Both facilities are managed by ASM Global – Jacksonville, which also uses Express at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville.

“We had been using traditional metal detectors, but when you’re welcoming close to 70,000 people each week, that is a time-consuming and cumbersome process,” said Bobby Lyle, director of facilities security for the Jaguars. “Evolv helps us move the fans inside more quickly and get them to where they want to be. It also frees up bandwidth for our security team and allows us to reallocate our resources.”

Evolv Express, which screens more than 1 million football fans on any given Sunday, uses powerful sensor technology with AI to provide accurate threat detection at unprecedented volume and speed. Fans walk through without always stopping or having to open their bags. The technology helps security officials to differentiate between threats and the everyday items people carry in their pockets and bags such as cell phones and keys, which reduces lines and helps guests to make their way into the stadium quickly.
