“We are proud to call Boston our home,” said Peter George, CEO of Evolv Technology. “Our company was founded on a vision to make the world safer. Ten years ago, our co-founders, like all of us, were reeling from the tragedy at the Boston Marathon and knew there needed to be a better way to make people safer where they gather. A decade later, we are honored to work with more than 600 customers around the world to make that vision a reality; and it is especially meaningful to help protect our hometown. We are Boston Strong.”

Partnership with Evolv Technology a Slam Dunk for Houston’s Toyota Center

Third Houston Pro Sports Team Using Evolv for Weapons Detection

WALTHAM, Mass. – (January 24, 2024) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the modern security technology company transforming threat and weapons detection to create safer experiences, today announced it is providing weapons detection to Toyota Center, home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.

Toyota Center installed Evolv Express® systems earlier this month, making their debut when the Rockets hosted the Utah Jazz on January 20. The systems are used to screen fans entering the arena, which can hold more than 18,000 guests. The Rockets saw the success the Houston Astros (MLB) and Houston Texans (NFL) had with Evolv, and quickly jumped on the opportunity to get Express in place after the NBA recently started to allow applications for this technology.

“We are excited to partner with Evolv Technology to enhance our fan experience while maintaining the safety of our arena,” said Doug Hall, general manager and senior vice president of Toyota Center. “This partnership is focused on utilizing cutting-edge technology to create a safer, faster and better screening process for our guests as they enter Toyota Center.”

Evolv Express uses sensor technology combined with artificial intelligence to pinpoint and distinguish everyday items from potential threats, such as a phone from a firearm. Fans can walk through at normal speed without always stopping for individual security checks, preventing the typical backups at venue entry caused by metal detectors and manual wanding. Toyota Center is the seventh NBA arena to partner with Evolv to screen fans, joining, among others, Ball Arena in Denver.

“There is no greater indication of Evolv’s success than to have customers recommend the technology to each other the way they did in Houston,” said Jay Muelhoefer, Evolv Technology’s chief commercial officer. “We’re thankful for Toyota Center’s partnership and humbled that with the addition of the arena to our roster, close to 50 professional U.S. sports teams now use Evolv.”

Since the launch of Evolv Express in 2019, Evolv has screened more than 1 billion people. Toyota Center is part of a growing list of teams and sports facilities in the United States and around the world using Evolv Technology as part of their safety plans.

Healthcare Leaders Turn To New Screening Technology To Address Workplace Violence

Concealed weapons detection develops safer experiences for nurses and doctors as well as visitors and patients

WALTHAM, Mass. – (January 23, 2024) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the modern security technology company transforming threat and weapons detection to create safer experiences, continues to see growth in the healthcare sector as hospital leaders add advanced weapons detection to their safety plans.

With over 70% of workplace violence taking place in a healthcare setting and the majority of emergency physicians saying violence in the emergency department harms patient care, the need to address staff safety has become paramount for many hospital administrators.

Evolv added over a dozen new healthcare customers in the second half of last year, including Parkland Health, one of the largest public hospital systems in the United States, Windsor Regional Health, the 15th largest hospital in Ontario, and the University of Missouri Health Care. Today, Evolv’s Express® concealed weapons detection system, which uses advanced sensors and AI to distinguish everyday items from threats as people move through security at the pace of life, is being used in more than 250 hospital buildings to screen over 400,000 hospital visitors every day, compared to just 40,000 a year ago.

David Musyj, president and CEO of Windsor Regional Hospital said the Express scanners, which were installed in October, have proven to be a huge success since they’ve been installed with over 1,000 weapons being detected so far. “We have successfully stopped a significant number of dangerous items from entering our facility with this new system. Protecting our providers and working to create a safer environment enables the best possible patient care.”

Windsor Regional Hospital’s emergency room operations manager Lisa Gawdunyk, RN added, “I can positively say that not only have we seen noted improvements to our recruitment and retention of staffing in the emergency department, but also improvements to overall staff morale. They feel supported and safe. Patients and families have also been appreciative of the steps WRH is doing to ensure their safety.”

“Since we’ve installed the Express systems in June, we’ve stopped over 500 guns and 200 knives from entering our facility,” said Brian Wade, director of security at Temple University Health.  “We are trying to provide a safe environment for everyone who comes into our hospital and Evolv has been an active layer in our security plan.”
“We had a lot of ED staff telling us they were very concerned about safety. They wanted to be able
to take care of patients and not worry about their safety. When the ED nursing staff found
out that we were putting the Express systems in place, they were very excited,” said David Hall, manager of security services at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

“As business leaders today, we are constantly challenged to look at new ways to create environments of safety from a cultural, physical, psychological, and technology perspective,” said Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health in New York. “Our people are our number one investment. Creating safer environments for them to collaborate and do their best work is essential.”

In addition to hospitals, Evolv’s Technology is used by more than 600 customers worldwide, including over 40 major league sports teams, schools, iconic venues, arenas, and leading theme parks. Evolv Express has screened more than 1 billion people.

Pennsylvania Security Leaders Turn to Evolv as Safety Partner

Evolv now screens over 100,000 visitors daily across PA schools, stadiums and hospitals

WALTHAM, Mass. – (December 13, 2023) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, is partnering with venues in nearly every state across the U.S. and has seen a steady increase in Pennsylvania venues turning to Evolv’s state-of-the-art Express® system as an important layer in a safety plan.

With Pennsylvania having the 33rd-highest rate of gun deaths in the U.S., Evolv has noted a 10x increase in the number of visitors screened at Pennsylvania venues since 2022 from stadiums to schools.

“While protecting our guests and ensuring their safety remains our number one priority, we also wanted something that would meet and exceed their expectations,” said Kevin C. Wilkes, Chief Security Officer, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “We believe Evolv gives us the scale to address our requirements into the future.”

“We were very thorough in our investigation and assessed multiple options,” said Salvadore DeAngelis, Vice President of Operations and Security for the Philadelphia Phillies. “Evolv checked all our boxes, but we wanted to ensure that we were making the right decision and conducted pilot testing of Evolv in 2022. It passed with flying colors, and we concluded that we wanted to go live with Evolv on opening day for the 2023 season.”

In addition to the Phillies and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, venues across the state, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Hershey Park, Temple Health and Citizens Bank Park, and as well as other professional sports teams, arenas, schools, entertainment venues and hospitals that call Philadelphia home have leveraged Evolv’s screening solution to bring an added layer of safety that helps create a positive and efficient security experience for people. In just one week in October, Evolv Express systems screened 125,000 people across three professional sporting venues in South Philadelphia.

“Sacrificing safety for experience doesn’t have to be a choice anymore,” said Peter George, CEO of Evolv Technology. “We work very hard to innovate, to listen to our customers, and to bring better solutions to those professionals charged with keeping people safe. Gun violence remains a terrifying epidemic in this country, and we are committed to our mission of helping to make the world safer.”

Evolv’s technology is used by more than 600 customers worldwide, including over 40 major league sports teams, as well as schools, hospitals, iconic venues, arenas, and leading theme parks. Evolv Express has screened more than 1 billion people.

Jacksonville Jaguars Score with Evolv Technology Partnership

Twelve NFL franchises choose Evolv’s AI-based security screening solution

WALTHAM, Mass. – (December 5, 2023) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, today announced its partnership with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars use Evolv’s state-of-the-art Evolv Express® screening solution at their home field, EverBank Stadium. Evolv Express is also used to screen attendees for events at Daily’s Place, the new multi-use complex located adjacent to the football field. Both facilities are managed by ASM Global – Jacksonville, which also uses Express at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville.

“We had been using traditional metal detectors, but when you’re welcoming close to 70,000 people each week, that is a time-consuming and cumbersome process,” said Bobby Lyle, director of facilities security for the Jaguars. “Evolv helps us move the fans inside more quickly and get them to where they want to be. It also frees up bandwidth for our security team and allows us to reallocate our resources.”

Evolv Express, which screens more than 1 million football fans on any given Sunday, uses powerful sensor technology with AI to provide accurate threat detection at unprecedented volume and speed. Fans walk through without always stopping or having to open their bags. The technology helps security officials to differentiate between threats and the everyday items people carry in their pockets and bags such as cell phones and keys, which reduces lines and helps guests to make their way into the stadium quickly.

The Jaguars initially learned about Evolv after seeing it in use at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. In addition to the Falcons, the Jaguars join double digit NFL franchises – including teams that play at SoFi Stadium and Acrisure Stadium – that have partnered with Evolv for weapons detection.

“The Jaguars and Evolv are like-minded in that both organizations are committed to innovation and a superior guest experience,” said John Baier, Evolv’s vice president of sports. “We’re thrilled to be part of the security solution at EverBank Stadium, and to partner with another ASM Global property.

Evolv’s technology is used by more than 600 customers worldwide, including over 40 major league sports teams, as well as schools, hospitals, iconic venues, arenas, and leading theme parks. Evolv Express has scanned more than 1 billion people.

Denver’s Ball Arena Opens 2023-2024 Season with Evolv Technology

Deal Expands Evolv’s Partnership with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment

WALTHAM, Mass. – (November 30, 2023) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, today announced an expanded partnership with Denver-based Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), introducing Evolv’s state-of-the-art Evolv Express® screening solution at Ball Arena for the 2023-2024 NBA, NHL, NLL, concert and event seasons.

Ball Arena, home to the NBA’s defending champion Denver Nuggets, 2022 Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche, and 2022 NLL champion Colorado Mammoth, is the latest KSE property to screen fans using Evolv Express. The sports and entertainment holding company’s DICK’s Sporting Goods Park, home to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer, and related SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, home of the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams, also use Express.

“Colorado fans have come to expect preeminent athletic performance on the court and on the ice,” said John Baier, Evolv’s vice president of sports. “We believe Ball Arena offers a superior fan experience that includes venue entry. We’re thankful for KSE’s continued confidence in our technology’s ability to help keep fans safer and we’re proud to amplify Evolv’s presence across all professional sports.”

Evolv Express enhances safety and visitor experience by reliably and quickly detecting threats, while distinguishing between weapons and commonly carried items. Prior to partnering with Evolv, Ball Arena used metal detectors at its entry points. Evolv Express works significantly faster than metal detectors – scanning guests as they walk through at pace – which reduces time spent waiting in line.

“We’ve had nothing but positive results from our relationship with Evolv, both here in Denver and in Los Angeles,” said Austin McKenna, executive director of safety and security for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. “As soon as the NBA and NHL approved the technology, we couldn’t wait to bring it in because Evolv further enhances what we care about most – the safety of our patrons and employees.”

Ball Arena, which can seat as many as 20,000 guests during events, utilizes nine Evolv Express systems to screen fans at all of its entrances. Evolv’s technology is used by more than 600 customers worldwide and has scanned more than 1 billion people.

Evolv Technology Surpasses One Billion Visitors Screened

Pressing need for improved security combined with innovative screening solutions and trusted customer partnerships drive Evolv’s continued industry-leading position

Waltham, Massachusetts – November 13, 2023 – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, today announced that it has further extended its leadership position in helping to make places safer where people live, work, learn and play. As of September 30, 2023, the Company has:

  • Surpassed 1 billion visitors screened since the launch of Evolv Express® in 2019.
  • Detected nearly 300,000 guns and knives through the first nine months of 2023.
  • Surpassed averaging over 2 million people screened per day.
  • Surpassed 4,000 active, long-term subscriptions of Evolv Express weapons detection systems.

With over 1 billion visitors screened and counting, Evolv’s growing detection data allows its systems to get more accurate over time. As a result, Evolv is now stopping an average of approximately 1,000 weapons each day from entering venues where they do not belong.

Evolv’s Express offers a non-intrusive screening process for visitors while empowering security professionals with an integrated suite of digitally enabled sensors, analytics and communication that is designed to deter, detect and orchestrate response to weapons that can cause injury and loss of life. Evolv’s advanced approach to weapons screening has been a welcome innovation to security professionals around the country who have embraced the technology as an added protective layer into their safety plans.

“With the metal detectors, we got complaints that we were violating the rights of students and that we were overly intrusive with our secondary checks. That has gone away with Evolv,” commented
Mark Laurrie, Superintendent, Niagara Falls City School District in New York.  “We ultimately concluded that the Evolv Express system was the least intrusive, most thorough, and most comprehensive weapons detection system out there.”

“We looked at a lot of different systems. We traveled throughout the country to a lot of different security shows. Evolv really is the best out there,” said Danny Mulligan, Director of Security, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

“Evolv is invested in making our environment at the Boch Center safe and secure. Unlike some other vendors, they didn’t sell a solution and then walked away from it in the hope that everything worked out for us. They’ve been here from the start—just like they have been with their other customers across the country,” noted Eric Neill, Director of Theater Operations, Boch Center in Boston.

“We look forward to continuing to innovate, improve, and expand our solutions for the communities we serve and are grateful for the continued partnership we share with security professionals across the country,” said Peter George, President and Chief Executive Officer of Evolv Technology. “By every meaningful dimension – including customers, subscriptions, visitors screened, and weapons tagged – we continue to see growing evidence of our market leadership position.”

Boston College Using Evolv for Weapons Detection Screening at Athletics Event

Another Local Sports Partnership for Boston-Area Evolv Technology

WALTHAM, Mass. – (November 7, 2023) – Evolv Technology (NASDAQ: EVLV), the leader in AI-based weapons detection security screening, today announced its partnership with Boston College. The school uses Evolv’s state-of-the-art Evolv Express® screening solution at the entrances to its football, hockey, and basketball games.

Boston College joins Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, and Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, as Boston-area sports entities teaming up with Evolv, which also calls the area home.

Evolv Express uses powerful sensor technology with AI to provide safer, more accurate threat detection at unprecedented volume and speed. It helps distinguish between threats and the everyday items people carry in their pockets and bags without always requiring individual checks. That means the majority of fans can pass right through, reducing backups at the gates. Boston College has 16 systems it is using between Alumni Stadium, which seats 44,500 people for football games, and Conte Forum, which primarily hosts hockey and basketball and seats roughly 8,000 people.

Alumni Stadium also hosts the school’s graduation ceremony each year. The school could use Evolv for other large gatherings, since the units can be moved. Boston College learned of Waltham-based Evolv because of its close proximity, and its use at nearby Gillette Stadium.

“We saw the deployments at Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park, and know there’s a standard being set now in the Boston area,” said Matt Conway, Boston College’s Associate Athletics Director – Facilities & Operations. “The Evolv system combines the highest levels of security and screening with convenience and ease of entry for the patrons at our venues.  We needed to go with the best, and that is Evolv.”

Boston College is part of a continuously growing roster of facilities in all sports using Evolv as part of their security solutions to provide a safer, more fan-friendly entrance experience. That includes venues that will be used for soccer’s 2026 World Cup. While Evolv partners with more than 20 colleges and universities, Boston College is the first college to use Evolv primarily for athletics events.

“Boston-area sports fans are quickly becoming accustomed to the safe environment with a smooth, seamless entry that Evolv provides,” said Peter George, CEO of Evolv Technology. “We’re proud to be able to make such a positive impact in an area so close to home and excited to help Boston College set a new safety standard for college athletics with their use of Evolv.”
